My Story
I grew up in an intentional community where collaboration, conflict resolution, and shared responsibility were part of everyday life. Learning and reflection were deeply valued, creating space for people to step back, listen, and work through differences together. These early experiences shaped my understanding that healthy communities require both honest dialogue and a willingness to learn from one another.
When I later stepped into professional roles, particularly in purpose-driven organizations, I was surprised to see how often infighting, ego, and territoriality undermined the very missions people cared deeply about. The gap between espoused values and lived experience was striking, and it sparked my commitment to helping people work together more effectively in service of meaningful change.
This commitment led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Human Systems Intervention. I became a certified coach and organizational development consultant, and for more than twenty years I have worked alongside leaders, teams, and organizations navigating change, complexity, and important transitions.
My work has supported organizations across the non-profit, public, higher education, and philanthropic sectors in Canada and internationally. I am often invited into important organizational moments—leadership transitions, strategic conversations, or situations where relationships and direction need careful attention.
My practice focuses on helping people think together about important organizational questions and move forward with greater clarity and alignment. Through coaching, facilitation, and organizational development work, I support leaders and teams to strengthen relationships, make thoughtful decisions, and create conditions where people can do their best work together.
At times this includes helping groups address difficult dynamics or speak honestly across differences and power. These conversations are not always easy, but they are often essential for building trust, strengthening leadership, and creating meaningful progress.
My approach is grounded in systems thinking, deep listening, and creating the psychological safety needed for candid conversation and thoughtful action. I bring particular experience facilitating conversations and processes where tensions, competing perspectives, or emotionally charged issues are present.
My training in conflict mediation, along with volunteer work in restorative justice and critical incident stress support for first responders, has strengthened my ability to work with steadiness and care.
I remain committed to ongoing learning and contribution in the field. I serve as a mentor in the Human Systems Intervention graduate program at Concordia University and continue to deepen my understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion. I am also a certified Professional Integral Coach and a Yasodhara Yoga teacher.
These practices inform my commitment to working with courage, awareness, and integrity, and to creating spaces where people feel respected, heard, and able to move forward together.
I live on a cliff overlooking Kootenay Lake in Queens Bay, British Columbia, within the Purcell Mountains. This land is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Ktunaxa and Sinixt Nations. I am deeply grateful for the family, friends, and mentors who continue to shape and reshape my life.
